About Sue

I moved to downtown Campbell River three years ago from Black Creek. I work in housing with the Salvation Army and the Campbell River & District Coalition to End Homelessness. I believe housing is a human right and that we must deploy imaginative and immediate solutions to encourage a livable city with walkable communities that improve community health and connectedness. This is the value that most strongly convinced me to run for local Council.

I spent 30 years working with food security communities and for the last eight years, as co-Manager of the Farmer’s Market. I currently sit on the Strathcona Community Food Hub and volunteer with the Hema?elas Kitchen and I am an active member of the Canada Day Committee leading the Clean Up Crew.

I have a background in finance, the arts, education and small business and will bring a well-rounded view to opportunities for Campbell Riverites and for the City.

I fell in love with Campbell River and chose it as my home. I gratefully acknowledge that I have been made to feel welcome in the traditional homelands of the Laichwiltach peoples and many others who have called this beautiful place home for generations or for months. I believe I can be the effective, thoughtful and bold councilor we need now. We must seize our future despite the multiple crises we face. What actions we take locally are the most important for creating a fair and beautiful place for our families and friends.
